    GARY — Mayor Rudy Clay pledged his political clout and war chest to former rival Karen Freeman-Wilson whom he endorsed for mayor Tuesday. A capacity crowd squeezed into Freeman-Wilson's Democratic campaign headquarters at 2448 Broadway, shared by Billco Barber Shop, to witness the "passing of the baton," as Clay put it. Clay suspended his re-election campaign on Friday, citing his treatment for prostate cancer and family concerns about his busy schedule.
